The second photoshop edit I had to do was a retouching assignment with a car the teacher provided for us. We had to get rid of the lights on the hood of the car and make it darker, then crop it out with a solid black background.
The first tool we used was the crop tool, which was to crop/cut things from the photo to make the subject closer. Second, the clone stamp tool. For the lights on the hood, we had to remove the white spots/lights that were present there. So what you had to do was use the option key on a mac keyboard and click on the color you'd need. Third, the select tool, specifically the brush selection. And finally, the brush tool. From what I've learned is that the brush selection tool is very difficult to use. It was hard to select the car and inverse the image to get the background for both the bird and the car. It was very difficult to not select everything, but I managed to complete this.

For my inspiration to find a photo, I have chosen to do portraits of people. I hope to be better at doing portraits and making sure my subject is in focus and the lighting isn't too blurry. I also hope to learn to use my camera well and to hopefully improve over the future. I also hope to branch out and take photos of new things for photography as a hobby. For this assignment, we had to follow certain instructions to do "Popart". To reflect on this assignment, it was fun, it was the first time I used photoshop and it was a fun experience to see how photoshop worked. (Both original photos are in the slideshow before the popart)
Composition #1 and #2 was the first assignment in our class, we had to take photos of different types of composition. Here are some examples of types of composition (in order of photos):
1. Depth of Field 2. Pattern 3. Lines (Horizontal in photo) 4. Texture 5. Symmetry 6. Rule of Thirds 7. Perspective 8. Color 9. Space 10. Balance 11. Framing Each photo has one of these in the images shown in the slideshow. What I liked for this assignment was the Depth of Field, it was fun figuring out where to put the subject (in this case the table) was the subject while the trees and the stone were a background. Some of the types of composition were difficult to do, for example balance was a difficult one, luckily we had an idea to use the mirror as the balance with the snowflakes as the subject (the woman) turned towards the mirror as a way to balance. I hope I can use more of the depth of field, rule of thirds, space, balance, and perspective more while taking this class.
